AAPU 2020 Annual Meeting
Mayakoba Mexico 1/20/2020-1/24/2020
The AAPU 2020 annual meeting will take place January 20-24 in Mayakoba, Mexico which is located in the Eastern part of the Yucatan peninsula on the Caribbean Sea, approximately 40 miles South of Cancun. Mayakoba is a tropical destination that is rich in culture, history and geography and offers so many opportunities to explore. In close proximity one will find Mayan ruins of Tulum, Ek Balam and Chichen Itza, one of the seven new wonders as well as the 2nd largest reef off the nearby island of Cozumel, archeological eco parks Xcaret and Xel Ha, lively nightlife of Playa del Carmen and a multitude of cenotes – underground swimming holes which are indigenous to Mexico. Mayakoba is a 1600 acre gated community nestled in the Mexican Riviera Maya. The development was carefully designed to enhance the natural beauty and landscape of the area which is comprised of jungles, lagoons, mangroves, beaches and cenotes. Mayakoba was conceived as a resort development. The idea was to follow the geographic contours of the existing areas and guests can travel to every corner of this community by navigating 4 km of waterways on electric powered boats, on foot or bike via nature paths or via chauffer driven electric golf carts. Mayakoba is home to four luxury hotels – Hyatt Andaz, Banyan Tree, Rosewood and our host property, The Fairmont, as well as a traditional reproduction of a Mexican town, El Pueblito. An 18 hole, Greg Norman, PGA tour golf course laid out over three eco systems completes the development. The Fairmont Mayakoba offers 401 rooms, suites and casitas intertwined within 47 acres of lush jungle and lagoons. It is home to four restaurants and lounges, 5 pools and waterslide, a Willowstream spa, fitness center, Discovery Club and Nature Camp which is complimentary for children aged 4-12. A limited number of specially negotiated rates are being held for AAPU at the rate of $319 Fairmont room in the main building, $339 deluxe casita overlooking the grounds and $369 signature casita overlooking the lagoons as well as a signature casita suite at $509 and a Beach front casita at $689 – tax and service fees are additional. A $20 per person resort fee per night is also applied. A third adult sharing a room will be charged $40/night. Reservations can be made by calling 1 800 441 1414, 1 800 540 6088, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or online via the web link--
