The Cayman Islands are located 480 miles due south of Miami and are a British Overseas Territory consisting of three islands. Grand Cayman is the largest of the three at 22 miles in length. The 2019 AAPU program will be held at the Westin on Seven Mile Beach. The resort features 343 newly renovated guest rooms, the islands largest freshwater pool, a fitness center, spa, 4 dining venues, including the AAA Four Diamond restaurant -- Ferdinand's, 3 lounges, and retail outlets.
The AAPU contracted rates are $399 island view room plus 13% tax and 10% service charge. AAPU Members may upgrade to a specially negotiated rate on a deluxe ocean view room for $449 based on Hotel Availability. Group rates will be offered 3 days pre and post also based on availability. There is a daily resort fee reduced to $40 per room per night that covers wifi, two 16 oz bottles of water in room per day, use of sauna, hot but, and steam room at the spa, beach yoga, and stand up paddleboard clinics, use of paddleboards, kayaks and other non-motorized water sports equipment, Sunday night movies at the beach, complimentary bite sized snacks at catboat bar, poolside treats, s'mores night, and beach bonfire night. The 10% service fee on room rates covers the bellman/doorman, porterage, and housekeeping gratuities.
Owen Roberts International airport is 10 minutes from Seven Mile Beach and current taxi fares are around $20 one way.
Official currency is the CI dollar and valued at a fixed rate of CI $1 to USD $1.25
