Message from Outgoing President

Dear AAPU Colleagues, February 2010
Laurence Baskin, MD Laurence Baskin, MD

It was an honor and pleasure to serve as your president over the last year. Miriam and I enjoyed seeing all of you at the Silverado Resort in Napa Valley. In spite of a little more rain than was expected, the annual meeting had the usual components of great academics and wonderful personal interactions.

Our journey on the wine train culminated in glowing sunshine at Grgich Hills Winery, and I know that the majority of you were able to experience the many wonders and charm of the Napa Valley region.

I am especially proud of facilitating our five visiting professors from UCSF and UC Berkeley: Stephen Glickman, Walter Miller, Gerald Cunha, Melvin Grumbach, and Felix Conte. They were all outstanding in our special symposium on the clinical and basic science aspects of sexual differentiation.

Our meeting afforded us a wonderful opportunity to visit with old friends and make new ones, climaxing with our annual banquet in the Mansion House, overlooking the 18th hole at the Silverado Resort.

My job as president was made especially easy based on the extraordinary skills of our outgoing secretary/treasurer and now our incoming president, Eugene Minovich. Eugene treated us to a presentation of next year¹s meeting, which I know we are all looking forward to in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Thank you for the incredible opportunity to serve as your president, and I look forward to many more terrific meetings with my colleagues in the American Association of Pediatric Urology.

Best regards,

Laurence S. Baskin, M.D.
