Message from Outgoing President

Ross Decter, MD
Dear Members,
It seems like only yesterday that I was the President of your organization, when it was actually only last week.
It was truly a pleasure to serve as your President over this last year and to have the opportunity to host our annual meeting. The weather at Crested Butte was wonderful and the skiers had a great time.
Karen and I tried some alternative activities, winter fly- fishing [scared away some rising fish ] and dogsledding [I ended up smelling rather like a Husky] but these minor travails only added to the fun.
The meeting had a classic AAPU flavor… ample time for discussion and lots of ribbing of your friends.
The little town of Crested Butte has some terrific restaurants and I think we enjoyed all of them.
W e were treated to a presentation about next year’s annual meeting by Larry Baskin our President-elect. The Silverado Resort in the Napa Valley sounds like it will be a terrific venue for January 2010.
My job as president over this last year was made easy by Eugene Minevich our Secretary-Treasurer. He handled a multitude of organizational details and once again was able to organize CME credits for our meeting. Eugene has also spearheaded a meeting which will be jointly sponsored by the AAPU and the Israeli Pediatric Urology Group. The joint meeting in Israel in March 2010 promises to be nonpareil.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your President and I encourage you all to consider coming to what sounds like a terrific venue next year in the Napa Valley.
Personal regards,
Ross Decter, M.D.
Past-President, AAPU
