Dear AAPU membership,
Our annual meeting of the American Association of Pediatric Urologist is set for January 18th - 23rd, 2010 at the Silverado Resort in Napa Valley. There are at least 10 spectacular golf courses with 2 on the property, along with tennis courts and a wonderful spa. Also for your enjoyment are the options of bike riding, ballooning, shopping, as well as, of course, world famous wine tasting and the wonderful Napa Valley cuisine.
The Silverado and its spectacular setting have wonderful accommodations. We have negotiated a $185.00 a day charge for a one-bedroom, fireplace suite. Along with our usual academics with associated CME credits, we have planned a number of extracurricular outings. This includes our opening reception Monday evening and a wonderful banquet planned for Thursday night on the Silverado Grounds. On our free day Wednesday we have reserved the Napa Valley Wine Train for a historic ride through Napa Valley while you enjoy a gourmet meal from the executive prepared by the executive chef paired with the local wine vintage. The best way to reach Napa Valley is to fly into San Francisco or Oakland airport rent a car for the ~ one hour drive. Having a car will allow you freedom to explore the rest of the region. Alternatively the Silverado can arrange transportation to and from the airport. Please start to think about your scientific presentations so we can start to arrange the program. This year we will have a special expert guest symposium about sexual differentiation planned for Thursday morning. The invited professors our Gerald Cunha, PhD, Professor, Anatomy and Urology UCSF. Melvin Grumbach, MD, Professor Emeritus, and Past Chair Pediatrics, UCSF and Stephen Glickman, PhD, Professor, Psychology and Integrative Biology, UC Berkeley and Director Hyena Colony.
